How Sujit Choudhry Became an Expert on Comparative Law

Comparative law is the study of the relationship between the different types of law. It involves the analysis of legal systems. The field is important in helping to understand foreign legal systems. It has made it easier for international bodies to draft treaties. Comparative law has assisted to examine how different regulations affect the society and economic status of a country.

Sujit Choudhry is an accomplished scholar with many years of experience in comparative law. Choudhry attended McGill University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Choudhry went on to join the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. He acceded to the University of Toronto after graduation. Choudhry studied law at the University of Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in the field. Choudhry became a clerk at the office of the Chief Justice of Canada after completing school. Choudhry was hired as an assistant professor at the University of Toronto before being promoted to an associate professor with tenure five years later. Choudhry served as the dean of the school of law at the University of California, Berkeley from 2014 to 2016.
